12:30: Boat ride to Gorgona (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes depending on weather conditions) it´ s scheduled based on flight arrival time.

2:00 p.m.: Arrival to Gorgona. Staff from National Natural Parks and Navy officers welcome you to the island. Your first stop will be “Patrulla Playa” (beach patrol). Here park admission is paid and army officials carry out a baggage check to make sure you don’t bring in anything prohibited.

14:30: Lunch

15:00: Check-in. Initial conversation (given by National Parks staff) on behavior, safety protocols and conservation within the island.

4:00: Historic Penitentiary Tour – 35 minute tour in the old prison facilities to learn more about the history of this island.

19:00 Dinner

8:00: Breakfast

9:00: Your day starts with a visit to Playa Palmeras. You take a boat in the village and head towards Piedras Redondas. Here, a 30 minute ecological trail through the jungle will take you to Playa Palmeras, one of the few places considered a sustainable beach and where you can rest, take the sun and appreciate Gorgonilla.

12:00: Return to village – lunch

2:00 p.m. Whale Watching. Tour around the island expecting a magnificent encounter with the humpback whales.

4:00 Return to village

5:30: You will have an early breakfast and at 6:00 am you take a boat ride back to Guapi (1 hour and 30 minutes)

7:30: Arrival to Guapi – you will have part of the morning to rest.

11:30 Our cultural experience begins with a traditional “Guapireño” dish experience were, guided by the hands of traditional wise-women, you will discover the seasoning secrets of this ancestral cuisine. Menu includes a traditional drink that, more than just part of the menu, it represents a symbol of spiritual and medicinal knowledge that pairs with this sense-awakening meal.

12:30: Lunch

2:00 p.m. City tour – explore the streets and recognize history throughout the different ways of life, all influenced by the strong bond that each Guapireño has with the river since the arrival of Africans and Spaniards in search of gold. These stories will lead us through the most emblematic places of Guapi´s urban area: its main square, church and artesanal centers.

4:00 p.m.: Afterwards we will live one of the most special moments of this experience. You will be part of a Marimba music school and learn about “Currulaos”, “Danzones” and “Bambucos” of the Old Cauca, today included as part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. Close this wonderful experience with a night full of traditional flavors and wisdoms; Enjoy a cultural show with a marimba musical group and delight your palate with drinks and traditional dishes to farewell this Colombian paradise.

7:00 p.m.: Traditional “Guapireña” dinner

8:00: 40-minute shopping moment and gallery visit.

10:00: Motorcycle taxi transfer to Juan Casiano Solís airport where our adventure finishes.
