DAY 1: CITY TOUR BY BIKE IN THE URBAN AREA
City Bike Tours through the urban area of San José del Guaviare, We will learn about the history and colonization processes of the Guaviare department, as well as the importance of this department for the south of Colombia. The tour is adjusted to the time of arrival in San José del Guaviare, the duration of the activity is approximately 3 hours.
DAY 2: NUEVO TOLIMA – CAVE PAINTINGS, PREAMBLE TO GUYANA AND THE TEPUIS
We go to the Nuevo Tolima village, just 26 kilometers away we will have our first contact with the area of influence of the Serranía la Lindosa. From the urban area, we leave on a paved road, approximately 4 kilometers, the road is in good general condition, which allows us to do the route on a Mountain Bike, Hybrid Bike or Gravel Bike. Approximately 22 kilometers are traveled to enter the Nuevo Tolima Paintings site. The walk to get to the Paintings is approximately 1.6 kilometers and most of this route. We continue on an unpaved road to Cerro Azul. The route has an approximate distance of 18.6 km from the Nuevo Tolima visitor house to the Cerro Azul visitor house. (the night there is spent camping, the organization takes care of the camping, the mat and logistics in general)
DAY 3: CERRO AZUL – CAVE PAINTINGS “1,200 SQUARE METERS PAINTINGS OR TRACES OF OUR ANCESTORS”
Waking up and walking. In the company of locals from the Cerro Azul community tourism association we will travel a 4.5 kilometer and approximately 1,200 m2 path. of cave paintings, crossing the cave of the farmers (according to locals) and ending with a viewpoint where it is possible to appreciate the transition between the plain and the jungle. We continue our route towards San José del Guaviare, along the road that goes to the nowen “Guaviare River” bridge we will travel 30 kilometers on an uncovered or “roadable” road. When we reach the paved road we will be able to see the imposing Guaviare River and the connection with it. department of Meta, from there we are 15 kilometers on a paved road from the urban area of San José del Guaviare.
DAY 4: PUERTA DE ORION TRANQUILANDIA (MACARENIAS CLAVIGERA) – LAGUNA NEGRA
From the path El Retiro, along the paved road to Villavicencio we will travel 10 kilometers and 1.5 kilometers on an unpaved road, to reach the La Esperanza farm and begin a path, through the La Lindosa mountain range, passing through the valley of the labyrinths, Orion Gate “rock formation belonging to Guyana” and ending with the path of the macarenias or water nymph “which can be seen from June to December” 4.5 kilometers of hiking
DAY 5: RETURN TO THE CITY OF ORIGIN

TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Comfortable clothes for cycling and a change of clothes (usually for these climates it is quick drying).
  • Long-sleeved lycra shirts and divers for sun protection and protection from mosquitoes.
  • Swimsuit or wet clothes.
  • Boots and shoes with good grip and that are suitable for cycling and walking.
